Balbec Hanging Lamp from @iatestastudio Parisian C Balbec Hanging Lamp from @iatestastudio Parisian Collection. The design revisits an era of luxury, cultural expansion, and prosperity during France’s Gilded Age. This era was recounted often in the works of Marcel Proust with Balbec as the setting, a fictitious seaside resort in Northern France, inspired by the real-life seaside resort “Le Grand Hotel”, in Cobourg, France, with its old-world details and opulent architecture and interiors. This collection takes its name, Balbec, as it was designed for installation at @maisonproustofficial, a fine boutique hotel in Paris featuring all things Proust. This elegant lighting collection incorporates design elements and ornamentation reminiscent of that era.
