@madeauxhome Presents 🌿 Selborne Collection This @madeauxhome Presents 🌿 Selborne Collection This new collection is inspired by the pioneering English naturalist, ecologist, and ornithologist Gilbert White, and his former home in Selborne, Hampshire. As one of the early ecological thinkers, White’s work paved the way for naturalists like Charles Darwin, shaping how we think about the intricate connections between species, the soil, and their environment. The fabrics and papers in this collection include a collaboration with recent graduate designer Chantal Turner. Turner’s entry to the world of textiles follows a career designing clothing for the childrenswear industry. Her charming and magical eye takes inspiration from local nature, offering an unexpected sense of scale and color that we are so drawn to at Madeaux. The thoughtfully observed artwork for her patterns includes whimsical takes on hedgerows, dandelions and strawberries, all important but often overlooked cogs of the ecological chain, working beautifully as a part of a collection inspired by Gilbert White’s legacy.
