Happy Mother’s Day 💐 Sending ‘Lilac and Catkin Vin Happy Mother’s Day 💐 Sending ‘Lilac and Catkin Vine’ by @adelphipaperhangings to you. “This botanically vibrant vine is superb representation of the type of wallpaper which were being produced in late 18th century New England. While the historical document is in poor condition, a smaller, but more intact sample is housed in the archives of Strawbery Banke, in Portsmouth, New Hampshire. It was from this fragment that the true coloring was determined. The reproduction of Lilac and Catkin Vine was commissioned by the Mount Vernon’s Ladies Association for use in back hall, just off of George Washington’s bedchamber. The original paper served a similar function; it was installed in a back hall of the Harrison Gray Otis House, in Boston. Coincidentally, the same site which Otis Federal Stripe and Stars & Squares are located.
