Steve is hand blockprinting ‘King Caesar Stripe’ F Steve is hand blockprinting ‘King Caesar Stripe’ French, circa 1800-1810 wallpaper by @adelphipaperhangings. This wallpaper was used in the parlor of the King Caesar House in Duxbury, Massachusetts. It is a copy of an original French paper, although the pattern is reversed, as was typical when patterns were traced and copied. (The original French version is installed at Gore Place in Waltham, MA.) The harlequin style leaf and stripe motif, on its own, reads as a graphic two dimensional pattern. By juxtaposing this element with a three dimensional column of leaves loosely bound with a decorative ribbon, the characteristics of both are enhanced. The strong verticality make it a fine choice for a hall, staircase or high ceiled parlor or dining room. Reproduction of King Caesar Stripe was commissioned by Boscobel House and Gardens.

Over sixty years ago, @JohnRosselli opened his fir Over sixty years ago, @JohnRosselli opened his first antique shop in New York City. He quickly created a destination for interior designers and architects who came to rely on John’s sophisticated eye and the shop’s ever-changing inventory of antiques and furnishings. In 1960s John and his long time associate Furlow Gatewood began creating reproductions of antique accessories, lighting, and occasional furniture. Painted finishes, exacting detail, and the ability to customize quickly established the workroom in Harlem as an essential resource for the interior design community. By 1985 John’s nephew Jonathan Gargiulo joined the company and shortly after opened the John Rosselli & Associates showroom in New York’s D&D Building. At this time, the business expanded to include additional lines of furniture and lighting, as well as fabrics and wallcoverings. In addition to providing a full-service showroom with the finest products, each sales representative strives to provide attentive customer service with a personalized response to each client. By the advent of the 2000s, three additional showrooms opened in Washington DC @washingtondesigncenter , Dania Beach, FL @dcotadesign , and Chicago @themart and the business began focusing on new boutique collections of textiles and wallcoverings. Each showroom has become a popular destination for designers who appreciate John Rosselli’s timeless sense of style and lifelong commitment to quality.
